On August 12, 2021, a response to be filed on behalf of Jamie Spears for the September 29, 2021 hearing in Britney's conservatorship case was released. The document offers a response to the petition to remove Jamie as Britney's conservator.

Jamie's response includes a narrative of his role in the conservatorship and argues that the case as it stands is in his daughter's "best interest". Much of the response focuses on protecting Jamie's reputation as a good conservator.

According to Jamie, Britney has always been able to refuse to work. They insist that Britney's new attorney, Mathew Rosengart, has no grounds for petitioning to remove Jamie as conservator, implying that Britney does not understand what is going on in her life. He also attacks Jodi Montgomery and Lynne Spears for their statements in the July 27, 2021 petition.

So even though he must contest this unjustified Petition for his removal, Mr. Spears intends to work with the Court and his daughter’s new attorney to prepare for an orderly transition to a new conservator. As the Court has likely surmised, before Ms. Spears’ new attorney arrived, Mr. Spears had already been working on such a transition with Ms. Spears' former court-appointed counsel, Sam Ingham.
