Eardley files to move conservatorship case

On February 14, 2008, attorney Jon Eardley filed a notice to remove the conservatorship of Britney Spears from the California court system to a Federal court due to civil rights violations.

On March 24, 2008, Justice Philip Gutierrez ruled that "Jon Eardley has no authority to act on behalf of Britney Jean Spears. Further filings by Mr. Eardley in this matter that purport to be on behalf of Britney Jean Spears will warrant sanctions."

The conservatorship responds with restraining orders for Jon Eardley, Sam Lutfi, and Adnan Ghalib in January 2009. Eardley filed an appeal on behalf of himself and Lutfi for requesting to be awarded legal fees.
