On July 27, 2021, Britney Spears's attorney filed a petition for the removal of Jamie Spears from his role as conservator of the estate & replaced with professional fiduciary Jason Rubin. The petition questions Jamie's motives for holding on to the role despite his daughter's repeated requests for him to step down. Although a list of potential wrongdoing is included, Mr. Rosengart assures that Jamie stepping down as conservator would not be an admission of fault in any ongoing or potential investigations of his actions.
Grounds for Jamie's removal are laid out, supported by statements from the conservator of Britney's person, Jodi Montgomery and Britney's mother, Lynne Spears.
